About ECG, 2D Echo & TMT

ECG, TMT, and 2D Echo are different types of heart tests. These work together to check how your heart is functioning.

  • ECG records the heart’s electrical activity and provides a quick overview of your heartbeat.
  • TMT (Treadmill Test) checks how well the heart works during exercise. It helps find possible blockages in the heart’s blood vessels.
  • 2D Echo uses ultrasound to create images of the heart. It shows the structure of the heart, including the valves and chambers.

An ECG gives a quick look at your heart rhythm, TMT shows problems that appear during physical activity, and an Echo shows the heart’s shape and condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an ECG check?

An ECG records the heart’s electrical signals. It can detect any irregular heartbeats, signs of past or current heart attacks, and other heart rhythm problems.

A 2D Echo uses sound waves to create live images of the heart. It shows the heart’s size, chambers, valves, and blood flow, helping doctors detect problems such as weak heart function, valve issues, or congenital heart defects.

Yes. A TMT is usually safe and is done under close medical supervision. The test is stopped right away if you feel unwell. Inform our staff if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or difficulty walking.

A TMT is suggested to –

  • Check chest pain,
  • See how the heart works during exercise,
  • Assess fitness before surgery
  • Screen for heart disease in people with risk factors.
