About Thyroid & Hormone Tests

We use advanced immunoassay technology for blood tests, primarily TSH, T4, and T3, to measure hormone levels. It measures hormone levels to diagnose underactive (hypothyroidism) or overactive (hyperthyroidism) thyroid glands. These tests help doctors identify thyroid problems, fertility concerns, and hormone imbalances.

How to Prepare

1

Avoid biotin supplementation for at least 48 hours to 1 week before the tests

2

Inform our staff about all the medications, including steroids, thyroid pills, and contraceptives

3

No fasting needed for standard thyroid tests

4

Avoid iodine-rich foods and certain medications for several days or weeks before tests

5

For thyroid tests, schedule them in the morning

6

For fertility hormones, test on special days of the menstrual cycle as advised

Frequently Asked Questions

At What Age Do Thyroid Problems Start?

An overactive thyroid can affect anyone. However, it is about 10x more common among women than men. It typically occurs between ages 20 and 40.

Hyperthyroidism (overactive) can cause difficulty sleeping. An overactive thyroid causes night sweats and a frequent urge to urinate. Both can affect sleep.

FSH and LH tests are usually conducted on the 2nd or 3rd day of your period. Progesterone is checked around day 21. AMH can be tested at any time.

HbA1c is glycated hemoglobin. It’s a blood test that shows your average blood sugar level over the past 2–3 months. It helps doctors diagnose diabetes and check how well blood sugar is being controlled over time.
